BRITISH Transport Police are appealing for information following a series of alleged thefts at Warrington’s Bank Quay Station.
They have today issued CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to following the incidents on February 8, between 4.40pm and 5.10pm
A man entered WH Smith’s and used distraction tactics to steal items from the shop.
He then placed a charity box, which was located on the counter, on its side and used what is believed to have been a knife to gain access from the bottom of the box, before removing all the coins and replacing it to give the impression that there was no damage.
The man is then alleged to have gone upstairs to a coffee shop where he went on to steal more items.
Officers would now like to speak to the man in the CCTV image who they believe has information that could help with the investigation.
Anyone with information should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 quoting reference 436-080218.
