COMEDY legend Ken Dodd has died aged 90, just days after cancelling his Happiness Show at Warrington’s Parr Hall, which was due to take place next month.

The 90-year-old entertainer died just days after leaving hospital and marrying his partner of 40 years, Anne Jones.

The comedian had been a regular visitor to Warrington over the years and was infamous for his lengthy stage shows which often went on into the early hours, even with his advancing years.

He had twice had to postpone his latest proposed visit due to a serious chest infection that saw him hospitalised for six weeks.

His publicist Robert Holmes, who described him as “one of the last music hall greats” announced that he had died on Mother’s Day, just two days after getting married.

Sir Ken passed away in the same house in Liverpool that he grew up in.
