Firefighters tackle Birchwood kitchen fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a kitchen fire at a property in Birchwood, Warrington at lunch time today.

One fire engine from Warrington and one from Birchwood attended at the property on Bracken Close at 12.19pm today.

Crews used a hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the grill pan fire and also used a large fan to clear the smoke.

They were at the scene for about half-an-hour.

No one was injured by the fire.

Homeowner Hayley McDermott, who is pictured with her daughter Florence, was provided with some fire safety tips with by firefighter Anant Patel after the fire had been extinguished.
