Elderly man taken to hospital after kitchen fire

AN elderly man was taken to hospital with burns to his head after a house fire at Warrington.
The blaze involved the kitchen of a semi-detached house in Northway, Longford yesterday.
Fire crews from Penketh and Leigh were called to the scene and entered the house wearing breathing apparatus. They used a ventilation unit to clear dense smoke from the property
The casualty, aged 70, was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Firefighters were at the scene for about an hour an 15 minutes.
