CONNECT – Warrington’s youth advice service – is holding a launch event on Wednesday following major investment in the service.

Young people are invited to go along and take a look round the newly refurbished facilities at the Gateway community resource centre, Sankey Street, between 3pm and 6pm.

A wide range of information and advice from organisations that support the health and wellbeing of young people will be provided. A limited screening service will also be available on the day.

CONNECT (formerly known as the Youth Advice Service) has recently undergone a full refurbishment and benefitted from investment in the outreach team to expand the service.

Service manager for Warrington Sexual Health Sian Davies, said: “This is an exciting time for us as these improvements will deliver a better service for young people in Warrington.

“Our new name CONNECT reflects the role the service has in providing young people with a confidential sexual health information, advice and treatment service.”

The service is provided by Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and commissioned by Warrington Borough Council.
Cllr Jean Carter, the council’s lead member for children’s services said: “I’m delighted the council is able to support Bridgewater in delivering such an valuable service to the young people of Warrington. This is another welcome addition to the wide range of community services on offer from the Gateway.”

The young person’s event will follow a preview for partner organisations and invited guests between 11am and 2pm.

CONNECT is open: Monday 3.30 to 6.30pm, Wednesday 3.30-6.30pm and Saturday 12-3pm.
