A NEW section of Charon Way – the road which it is hoped will take traffic from the M62 Junction 8 to the Gemini shopping centre – opens tomorrow (Saturday) at 6am.
It is hoped the road will relieve traffic pressure in the area, particularly at weekends for motorists heading for Gemini and in particular in the run-up to Chbristmas.
Borough council chiefs say additional signage and road markings will be in place to highlight this change.
They will also be continuing to optimise traffic signal timings over the court of the next few days.
