Vandals start fire near town centre

FIREFIGHTERS at Warrington were called out early today after vandals set fire to a bin in Hall Street, off Mersey Street.
Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze and appealed to the public to report anything suspicious they had seen in the area by calling police on 101 or via the anonymous Crimestoppers hot line on 0800 555 111.
A fire crew from Lymm was call to Hobbs Hill Lane, High Legh, late last night when a skip was discovered well alight. They used a hose reel jet to put out the fire.
Another fire, in Peel Hall Park, off Blackbrook Avenue, Warrington was dealt with by a crew using a water back pack.
