Police launch appeal after young man robbed at knife point

POLICE investigating a robbery in Warrington when a young man was threatened at knife point are urging witnesses to come forward. 

The robbery took place at around 1.10am on Saturday, September 9 when a 24-year-old man was walking along Thelwall New Road when he was approached by a man. The man had previously been stood across the road with a group of other men.

While brandishing a knife, the offender approached the victim and demanded he emptied his pockets. After taking the man’s wallet the offender walked off in the direction of Bradshaw Lane.

The offender is described as being white, aged in his early twenties, of a slim build and approximately 5”9 to 5ft 11 in height. He had a thin face and lips, dark eyes and short blonde hair. He was wearing a dark grey coloured hoody with the hood up and dark grey jogging bottoms.

Detective Constable Ian Bingley, of Warrington CID, said: “If you witnessed the robbery take place or saw a group of men in the area before or after the offence took place I would urge you to contact us on 101.”

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 61 of 9 September.
