Bus bosses meet passengers in bid to improve services

THE new chairman and managing director of Network Warrington have been finding out from customers how improvements can be made to bus services across the borough.
Ben Wakerley, alongside new chairman of the board of directors Cllr Cathy Mitchell, held two “meet the manager” sessions at Warrington’s bus interchange to listen to customers about their commuting experiences with Network Warrington and their suggestions for improvement.
Mr Wakerley, who recently joined the company from Abellio London and Surrey, said: “It was important for me to speak to customers directly about their experiences as their feedback will help shape the type of service they receive in future.
“We gathered some insightful, constructive feedback which we will be taking away for consideration. Customers were keen to discuss fares and bus routes and I’m pleased to hear that the 16/16a discounted Dallam route is being well received.
“There were also intriguing suggestions about colour-coding bus routes and how we can get involved in the local community.
“We will be incorporating customer feedback into our future planning and look forward to speaking to more customers at the next session. I hope our customers found the session as useful as I did”.
The next “meet the manager” customer session is scheduled for Wednesday  September 6 from 4pm-6pm at the bus interchange.

  1. Good to see them doing something positive at last – as one of the very few council owned bus services left are very forunate to have a monopoly which they must not take for granted as they appeared to do in the past. As a lay person the solution seems to be reduce fares = more passengers = more income = more bus routes. Win win for the town.
