BUSINESSES clubbed together to ensure the annual Padgate Walking Day took place.

The annual event had been under threat but local businesses helped raise enough money to ensure the event could take place.

Money raised helped cover costs of staging the event to ensure the tradition could continue.

Local school children and churches paraded through the area accompanied by marching bands.

Hundreds of people showed their support by lining the streets.
