HEARTLESS thieves got away with £800 cash from an elderly woman’s bag in Warrington town centre today.
The theft took place at the Scoop ice cream parlour in Golden Square shortly before 12.30pm.
Police said it seemed an elderly woman had been targeted and the money taken from her bag while she was at the counter at Scoop.
They are currently investigating all possible lines of enquiry.
A spokesperson said: “Please keep an eye on your belongings when in public places in the town.”
