Firefighters kept busy across Warrington

WARRINGTON firefighters were kept busy tackling four incidents involving an electric cupboard, a chimney and two grass fires across the town.

At 13.35 Firefighters were called to a fire involving an electric cupboard at Greenings Court and used a hose reel to extinguish the flames.
A large fan was then used to removed smoke from the property. It is believed that the fire was started accidentally.

Then at 16.02 they were called to deal with a grass fire on Thelwall Eyes off Bridgewater Avenue involving an area of land 10m x 20m. They used a hose reel jet to put out the flames.

This was followed at 17.48 by a large grass fire at Winwick Lane, involving crews from Warrington and Leigh, which was brought under control by using beaters.

Then at 20.45 one crew attended a chimney fire on Winwick Park Avenue, which started behind a gas fire. A hand held extinguisher was used.
