THE air ambulance was called when a youngsters suffered a broken leg in two places during a horrific training accident at Woolston last night.
Everybody at Woolston Rovers Rugby League Club have sent their best wishes to Under 14 player Callum Stone.
The club has posted their best wishes to Callum on social media following the incident last night.
The air ambulance and paremedics attended at the scene on Hollins Lane to take Callum to Warrington Hospital.
He is set to undergo surgery to have metal plates inserted in a double leg break.
Warrington Wolves player Ashton Sims, who was watching his son train, was on hand to offer words of comfort to Callum while he awaited emergency services, which was greatly appreciated by Callum’s parents.
The club posted on facebook: “We would like to acknowledge the following people for their assistance; Under 14s team manager Steve Price, Sahorn Clyne, Dominic Ball, Sonia Deane, Lucille Whalley, Kirsty Allen and club welfare officer Nikki Whalley who were all in attendance to offer Callum support.”
Under 14s coach Nathan Evans was on hand to offer words of comfort and support to Callum’s team mates who were all devastated by the injury he had suffered.
