Budget boosting club offers help in finding a job

A NEW “budget boosting club” is being launched by Warrington Borough Council to help local people in need of support.
It will open at Radley Common Community Centre on Grasmere Avenue on Monday from 12pm – 4.30pm.
A team will be available to help with writing a CV or covering letter, completing a job application, accessing the internet, job searches, and interview skills and benefits advice.
Residents are being asked to drop-in for a chat and a light buffet lunch and drinks will be available.
The club will then run every Monday, 1.30pm – 3.30pm.
It will be the sixth budget boosting club to be set up in Warrington, with others already running at Orford Community Hub and in community centres in Fearnhead, Oakwood, Whitecross and Westy.
The clubs are free to join and are aimed at people who are struggling to get a job or struggling to manage their finances.
Cllr Tony Higgins, the council’s lead member for leisure, community and culture, said: “Our budget boosting clubs offer free advice and practical support to help you examine the way you live, review how you spend your money and help you take some positive steps towards boosting your income.
“I would urge anyone struggling to find a job opportunity, in need of help to complete an application or wanting advice about generating more income to come along to one of our clubs.”
