VANDALS are believed to have started a fire involving a large amount of waste material and rubbish on Bennett’s Recreation Ground, Padgate, Warrington last night.
The blaze broke out shortly after 7pm and a fire engine from Warrington went to the scene.
A hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire which appeared to have been started deliberately.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police on 101 or, anonymously, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
