Crematorium car park to be enlarged

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have approved an extension to the car park at Walton Lea Crematorium – to meet increasing demand.
The enlarged car park will accommodate an extra 34 vehicles but will mean a loss of six spaces on the adjoining Walton Gardens car park.
The borough’s development management committee was told the application related to part of the crematorium site on Chester Road, Walton and a portion of the adjacent Walton Hall Gardens site.
The existing car park, with 41 spaces could not meet the demands of the crematorium.
Footpaths will be provided for safe access to the parking area, which will be partly enclosed by a low fence.
