Extra parking plan for crematorium

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington are being asked to approve an extension to the car park at Walton Lea Crematorium.
The enlarged car park would accommodate an extra 34 vehicles,  according to a report to the borough council’s development management committee.
Councillors will be told the application to part of the crematorium site on Chester Road, Walton and a portion of the adjacent Walton Hall Gardens site.
The existing car park, with 41 spaces, cannot meet the demands of the crematorium. The scheme will mean about six spaces will be lost at the Walton Hall Gardens site, but there will still be ample parking.
Footpaths will be provided for safe access to the parking area, which will be partly enclosed by a low fence.
Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved.
