Last minute Christmas shoppers cause traffic chaos

0

LAST minute Christmas shoppers faced frustration on the roads of Warrington with traffic delays due to the sheer volume of traffic.

Heavy traffic was reported on Midland Way, Wilson Patten Street,  Mersey Street and Bridgefoot, with motorists facing delays of around 45 minutes to travel a mile.

With no reported accidents in and around Warrington, the delays were put down to the sheer volume of traffic caused by last minute Christmas shoppers.

Meanwhile heavy rain from “Storm Barbara” caused localised flooding on some roads.
