Arson attack leaves man suffering from inhaling smoke

AN arson attack at Warrington left one man suffering from the effects of smoke and threatened several properties.
The fire was in Welwyn Close, Thelwall in the early hours of today.
Two fire engines – from Warrington and Stockton Heath – went to the scene and found that a fire involving wheelie bins had spread to a garage attached to a semi-detached house.
Paramedics were called to the scene to treat one man suffering from smoke inhalation.
Firefighters tackled the blaze with a hose reel jet and and used a thermal imaging camera to check the neighbouring properties to ensure the fire had not spread.
Fire chiefs decided the fire had been started deliberately and called in police.
