PLANS for a new, two-storey sports hall at Warrington’s St Gregory’s RC High School are to be considered by planning chiefs.
The scheme would also the school to convert the existing sports hall and adjoining areas to form 13 classrooms, three science labs and an additional assembly hall.
External alterations in connection with the conversion would include windows to serve the teaching accommodation and a single storey flat roofed infill extension to form one classroom and there would be a two-storey flat roofed extension to form a stairwell and entrance to the new classroom accommodation.
The new sports hall would prove four indoor courts with changing rooms and showers, a store, plant and fitness area.
Planning officers are recommending approval. They say conversion of the existing sports hall will improve the appearance of the school  complex and the overall scheme will not adversely effect neighbouring properties.
