Volunteers wanted – for police cells!

POLICE and Crime Commissioner David Keane is looking for volunteers to fulfil the role of Custody Visitor.
Custody Visitors are members of the public who visit one of the three police custody suites in Cheshire to check on the conditions and welfare of the people being detained in police custody.  They are impartial and independent of the police service.
Anyone interested in knowing more about custody visiting can find details on the Commissioner’s website  www.cheshire-pcc.gov.uk  where there is also a role profile of one of the current custody visitors available to read.
People who wish to apply to become a custody visitor should download an application pack from the website or email their name and address to [email protected] or telephone 01606 364103 for an application pack.
Anyone with questions regarding the role should contact the Governance Officer on 01606 364005.
Closing date for applications is Monday January 9.
