Fire rescue crews attend reports of person in River Mersey

FOUR fire crews and a rescue boat attended at the River Mersey at Bridgefoot, Warrington, this evening following reports of a person in the water.

The fire crews arrived at the scene at around 9.30pm near the entrance to the Riverside Retail Park, with a rescue boat.

Eye witness reports said it was believed a person had been reported in the water – although this has not been confirmed.

No further details are available at this time.
