TELEVISION presenter Helen Skelton and Warrington Wolves player Ashton Sims are supporting a new local “I love my health visitor…” campaign.
The campaign has been launched by Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Bridgewater) to celebrate the commitment and kindness of the borough’s health visitors.
Members of the public are being encouraged to take a photo or selfie with a poster stating why they love their health visitor and post it on facebook and twitter with the hashtag #Ilovemyhv.
Poster templates can be downloaded from www.bridgewater.nhs.uk/healthvisitingservice.
Helen Skelton, best known for presenting Blue Peter, the Olympics and Countryfile, has a one-year-old son and lives in the borough with her husband and former Wolves player Richie Myler.
She stated that she loved her health visitor because she did not laugh at her questions.
Another local resident, Wolves player Ashton Sims praised the help he got from his health visitors in making his family’s move from Australia much easier.
Anne Doyle, assistant director of Children’s Services at Bridgewater said: “We are pleased that stars such as Helen Skelton and Ashton Sims are showing their support for Warrington’s hard working health visitors. Our health visitors show tremendous dedication to supporting local families, listening to their concerns and providing invaluable information and advice on a daily basis. We encourage the public to show their support for their own health visitors by tweeting a selfie and message why they love their health visitor using the hashtag
#Ilovemyhv.”
The campaign also coincides with the launch of a new integrated 0-19 children and young people’s service in Warrington. The service, which is run in partnership with Warrington Borough Council, will see staff from the borough’s health visiting team working more closely with staff from school nursing, Family Nurse Partnership, Oral Health Improvement, breastfeeding, immunisation and National Child Measurement Programme.
