STAND-off Connor Muir rounded off a successful season with Latchford Albion when he bagged a hat-trick of awards at the club’s presentation night.
Connor, who earlier in the year claimed the honour of scoring the first try at the club’s new ground, the Victoria Park Arena, was named Player’s Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and Back of the Year.
It was an occasion for celebration, with Albion  having gained promotion to the NWML premier division.
Other award winners were: Player of the year – Dave Levenson; Forward of the year – Chris Nicholas; Clubman of the year – Lee Smith; Sammy Sixmith Award – Geoff Bishop.
Latchford have announced a pre-season programme that will test the limits of the squad.
Coach Lee Smith said: “We reached our objective of earning promotion but the hard work must continue if we want to progress and continue this fantastic journey we are on.
“The coaching staff have identified the areas we need to improve and I intend to challenge the players which will enhance the squad both as a team and also as individuals.
“We have a young squad with a number of under 18’s making their debut last season and I am looking forward to a full pre-season so I can continue their development as they push to make the team.”
Training commences this week and will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. For further information contact Lee on 07490 706747 or visit the club’s website.
