IF he wasn’t playing Rugby League with the Warrington Wolves Ashton Sims would love to be a rock star.
Ashton, loves Heavy Metal music and was special guest of warrington-worldwide’s Rock God, Gary Skentelbery on Radio Warrington’s Saturday Rock Show at the weekend.
“If I wasn’t playing for the Wolves I would love to be a rock star, ideally as the fifth member of Metallica,” said Ashton, who was also joined on the show by another local rock fan, anti-hate campaigner Adrian Derbyshire.
The show covered three generations of rock music, with the grand daddy of rock Gary focusing on the 70s-80, Adrian the 80s-90s and Ashton the 90s-2000 – although there was plenty of crossover, with many bands spanning all three generations.
The show proved so popular it is set to be repeated this Thursday from 10pm-midnight, giving rock fans the chance to enjoy four hours solid of classic rock, following on from Micky’s Rock Night 8pm-10pm.
To tune in and to hear plenty of classic rock – and banter – either listen on MW on 1332 AM or download the Tunein Radio App and search for Radio Warrington to listen on your phone or visit www.radiowarrington.co.uk
Meanwhile if you like your music heavy and you love classic rock, make sure you tune in every Saturday evening 10pm-midnight.
