Fire started after washing basket left on cooker

FIREFIGHTERS were called to reports of a building fire in Orford, Warrington, last night, caused by a washing basket being left on top of cooker.

Two fire crews attended and after searching the property on Ennerdale Avenue, they discovered a small fire in a washing basket, which had been left on top of the cooker.

They put out a fire using hand appliances and cleared smoke from the property using a large fan. All persons were accounted for.
