Warrington Disability Partnership celebrate 25 years

WARRINGTON Disability Partnership celebrated their 25th anniversary in style, also raising £9,000 for the charity co-founded by Dave Thompson after a sporting accident.

Special guests at the event at the Park Royal Hotel in Stretton, included the Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington Cllr Faisal Rashid and his Mayoress Aleeza and various local businesses.

Funds were raised from an auction and raffle.

Chairman John Gartside welcomed the 200 guests to the black tie event, while Dave, who is now chief executive, outlined how the charity had progressed over 25 years, starting out from a cupboard and now linked to a business, the Disability Trading Company, turning over in excess of £700,000 a year.

Dave helped co-found the charity after breaking his neck playing American football.

During the 25th anniversary year a legacy appeal has been launched to provide meaningful employment opportunities for disabled young people.
