POLICE had another busy night in Warrington town centre involving mainly drink related and violent crimes.
At 1845 hours, there was a report of a fight in the Bold Street/Palmyra Square area where it was alleged that bottles and street furniture were being used.
Officers attended and a male was arrested for being Drunk and Disorderly and Criminal Damage – He was also discovered to be wanted for an unrelated offence in the Greater Manchester force area.
A male and female who had slipped away from the incident were later discovered and arrested on Bridge Street.
Later at 0045 hours, a male was arrested in the Cairo Street area for an allegation of assault on another male in a town centre bar.
At 0200 hours, a male was arrested for an allegation of an assault on Bridge Street.
At 0230 hours, a male was arrested for being Drunk and Disorderly on Academy Way.
At 0305 hours there was an alleged fight on Barbauld Street – officers have attended and a male was arrested for an allegation of Affray. However one male slipped away and a foot chase ensued – coming to an ending near to Bridge Foot where a second male was arrested for alleged affray.
At 0355 hours, a male was arrested for an alleged assault on a member of staff at a licensed premises in Legh Street.
At 0415 hours, Two males were arrested on Horsemarket Street for an alleged theft of bike wheels from a chained up bike – the CCTV operator was watching and was able to steer patrols to these males.
Away from the town centre a male was arrested for an allegation of Domestic Assault in the Longford area.
All of the above were taken to the North Cheshire Custody Suite.

An eye catching headline would be “Warrington trouble free Saturday Night”. Is there any merit in premises being allowed to serve alcohol into the morning?
So much for the “Cultural Quarter”, given the location of those problems.
Certainly not the town to visit for a family night out!
