WARRINGTON Town have parted company with their management duo of Stuart Mellish and Lee Smith by mutual consent.

The pair took charge last February and helped deliver promotion but left the club by mutual consent following Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Workington Town.

Chairman Toby Macormac said: “Everyone connected with Warrington Town Football Club would like to thank Stuart and Lee for their hard work during their time at the club.

“They have been totally professional throughout their time here but things haven’t quite worked out this season.

“Having sat down and talked things through it was agreed to part company on mutual terms and we will now look at appointing someone in a caretaker role while we consider our options.

“Stuart and Lee did a fantastic job for us last season, taking over in difficult circumstances and getting us over the line and delivering promotion. We wish them both well in the future.”
