THE Cantilever Bridge over the Manchester Ship Canal at Latchford, Warrington is set to re-open tomorrow (Saturday) at 8am.
This was revealed by the borough council today, following information received from contractors working for canal owners Peel Ports.
The bridge – a vital crossing of the canal for thousands of commuters – has been closed since Monday morning for urgent repairs. As a result, there has been considerable traffic congestion in the area at peak periods.
This was made worse by the ongoing highway improvement works on Knutsford Road.
