Warrington Police help detain attempted murder suspect

WARRINGTON Police helped arrest a man wanted in connection with an attempted murder.

The 20-year-old suspect was detained after police attended at a property on Mersey Street, shortly after 9am on Sunday following concerns about the welfare of a woman inside the premises.

The 20-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident at a property in Cheadle Hulme on September 1 when a 21-year-old male was allegedly attacked with a hammer after being confronted by two men at the front door of his home.

One man held the door open while the other hit him with a hammer on the head and arm.

Anyone with information is urged to call the police on 101 quoting incident 2260 from September 1 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
