RESIDENTS who rallied round to fight a controversial housing plan at Warrington have won praise from MP Helen Jones.
The Warrington North MP says the response from residents to new proposals for Peel Hall, Warrington, has been “superb.”
In partnership with local councillors and residents, Ms Jones launched a “Save Peel Hall” campaign which has received in excess of 2,150 signatures of support from across the town.
The application to build 1,200 homes was submitted by developers Satnam to Warrington Borough Council last month and the consultation period recently came to an end.
Ms Jones said: “I commend the residents of Warrington North for mobilising once again to protect Peel Hall.
Since Satnam launched their latest plan to build on one of the last green spaces in the constituency, more than 2000 residents have signed the petition opposing the development, and many have voiced their concerns to the council’s planning department.
“It truly has been a superb response from residents rightly concerned about the knock-on effects that this development would have upon the area.”
