LIVEWIRE’S ongoing public consultation into the proposed changes to libraries and learning in Warrington is to be extended.
The consultation will now run for an extra 17 days and will close on Friday 21 October 2016.
The extension of the consultation will allow LiveWire to attend follow up meetings in areas that have requested them and will also give residents longer to have their say following the final public consultation session at Walton Hall on Tuesday 4 October.
Over the last two weeks, LiveWire has held a number of public consultation sessions across the town with more than 900 residents attending the eleven sessions held so far and LiveWire has received a significant amount of feedback about the proposals.
Emma Hutchinson, managing director of LiveWire, said: “We welcome the many comments and suggestions we’ve received so far and would encourage more residents to have their say.
“We will ensure all the comments and suggestions received are used to give a full report to the council on the feedback from these proposals.”
The ongoing consultations have attracted huge public interest, particularly at Lymm, Stockton Heath and Culcheth.
Local residents and councillors have expressed opposition to any proposed closures, although LiveWire say no final decisions have been made, with Warrington Borough Council having the final say.
