Burtonwood stars and stripes success

0

A special “stars and stripes” event at Warrington gave visitors a chance to see what life was like at the former US air base at Burtonwood from 1940 to 1993.

The event was organised by the Burtonwood Association at Gulliver’s World.

In addition to turning back the clock to the days when Burtonwood was the biggest military base in Europe, there were classic cars, stylish vintage stalls, military vehicles, living history groups, music and dancing, along with displays from Cheshire police and Cheshire fire service.

The whole event was a tribute to those who served at Burtonwood during the war and afterwards – and today’s emergency services.
