Police hunt three men after attempted armed robbery

POLICE have launched an appeal to trace three men who were armed with blades who attempted a robbery at a Warrington convenience store last night.

The offences took place at approximately 9.00pm last night, Thursday 15 September when three men entered the convenience store on Greenwood Crescent, Warrington, via the rear entrance.

The men, who all had their face covered and were armed with bladed items, approached the counter and threatened the shop worker, demanding that she opened the safe.

The shop worker told the offenders that she did not have the key to open the safe and, following a short struggle, all of the offenders then made off and exited via the rear entrance. After exiting the store the believed the men may have left at speed in a vehicle.

The first man was wearing a black hooded jacket with the hood up, dark coloured Adidas tracksuit bottoms with three white stripes down the leg, black gloves and black trainers.

The second man was wearing a black coloured jacket with the hood up, dark coloured tracksuit bottoms, black trainers and gloves; he was armed with a bladed item and carrying a black Nike rucksack, with Nike written in white and blue outline on his back. The third man was also wearing all dark clothing with his face covered and carrying a bladed item.

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 946 of 15 September. Information can also be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
