MOTORISTS are being warned to look out for road closures in Warrington on Sunday – the day of the eighth running of the English Half Marathon in the town.
Thousands of people are expected to take part or watch the various events, with the grand finale taking place at the Golden Gates.
Local people are being advised to check road closure information before setting out on a journey.
Sankey Street and Winmarleigh Street will be closed between 4am and 2pm.
Academy Street (Northwest bound) (Academy Way to Scotland Road), Academy Way (Northeast bound), Academy Way (Moulders Lane to Bridge Street), Ackers Road (Northeast bound) (Chester Road to Cantilever South West Approach) will be closed from 5am to 2pm.
Other roads to be affected include Barbauld Street, Bold Street, Bridge Street, Broad Lane, Buckley Street, Cairo Street, Cantilever Bridge, Cartridge Lane, Cockhedge Way, Chester Road A56 (Lumb Brook Road to Ackers Road), Chester Road A56 (westbound traffic from Ackers Road to Albert Road), Church Lane (Chester Road to Broad Lane), Egypt Street, Friars Gate, Green Lane (Appleton Thorn), Hallaway A5061, Hilden Square, Hill Street, Knutsford Road A5061 (Westbound) (Grange Avenue to Wilderspool Causeway), Legh Street (Bath Street to Sankey Street), Lumb Brook Road, Loushers Lane, Mersey Street (Northeast bound) (Wharf Street to Bank Street), Museum Street, Palmyra Square North, Palmyra Square South, Pinners Brow, Regent Street, Rylands Street, St. Austins Lane, Scotland Road, Silver Street, Springfield Street, Station Road (Wash Lane to Grammar School Road), Stockton Lane, Suez Street, Tanners Lane,Town Hill, Wash Lane’ Winwick Road (Pinners Brow to Winwick Road A49), Winwick Street.
