THE Mayor of Warrington is throwing open the doors of the Town Hall to give everyone the chance to explore the historic building.
Dating from 1750, the former stately home of industrialist Thomas Patten, will be open to the public on Saturday as part of Heritage Day.
Between 10am and 2pm, visitors will be able to freely look inside the stunning Georgian building, or take a guided tour to learn about its history.
There will also be a chance to stop off at the Mayor’s parlour and meet the Mayor, Cllr Faisal Rashid.
He said: “I’m very much looking forward to welcoming visitors to this magnificent building for our open day. It’s a unique opportunity for the public to freely wander the rooms, halls and corridors.
“Everybody knows about our golden gates, which stand as a proud symbol of Warrington, but there’s so much more to discover. So make sure you come along to this special event to learn more about the history, heritage, stories and secrets of this famous civic building.”
Tours are free of charge and take around 45 minutes. Everyone is welcome, but booking is essential by calling 01925 442111 or by e-mailing [email protected]
