ROOMOO, the innovative employment website from Helena Partnerships marked its first anniversary with a celebration tour around Warrington and St Helens.
Launched in August last year the roomoo website not only helps job seekers create stand out CVs and portfolios, it puts thousands of jobs at their fingertips too.  It was funded by the Fusion21 Foundation – a registered charity established by national social enterprise Fusion21 and Helena Partnerships.
Tanya McGibbon, Helena’s neighbourhood initiative officer for young people, said: “The website is aimed at people aged 16-24, although it is attracting users of all ages, who are using the site not just for employment but to access other services such as housing information and helpful financial advice.”
During the course of the year the website has had over 30,000 visitors, with a massive 535 people have signed  up to create online CV and portfolio, which smashed the original target of 35. Four members of the roomoo project group have also gained a qualification in setting up a business online through the Digital Youth Academy.
Roomoo has worked with and supported a wide range of partners including  Groundwork Trust for their Princes Trust and National Citizenship programmes and Golden Gates Housing, of Warrington.
It has received praise from leading figures in the local business community who have praised its innovative approach.
The future for roomoo is looking bright with further funding on the cards to enable the introduction of new online : a virtual career advisor, online skills healthcheck and the facility to create multiple versions of CVs and portfolios.
