SEO – Sentiment V’s Optimisation

For years SEO (search engine optimisation) has been seen as a necessary evil.

A marketing requirement that’s veiled in mystery and wrapped in an enigma. For some, SEO is a dirty word. For others, it’s been the making of their success.

As our planet continues to be engulfed by Google, do you think that their search technology will continue to be effected by how many keywords you have on a specific page or how many links you have pointing at your domain?

Personally, I doubt it. The change might not happen for some time, but I do believe that sentiment is tomorrows optimisation metric, if not already today.

Experience is everything. Whether that be the experience someone has when they enter your shop or reception, how their call is answered or how the website made their life easier.

Sentiment (our customer/consumer opinion) is what I recommend businesses look to master and invest in. Focus on your website visitors being engaged, staying on your site, liking it, recommending it and bookmarking it.

There’s no shortage of third party systems you can use to survey your customers. Doing so will help you refine your customers experience, control your destiny and shout about your success.

Engaging with your customers, turning them into brand advocates and delivering the best possible customer experience is what businesses should invest in.
