WHEN photographer Andrew Spencer decided to embark on a career change he was shocked to discover the removal of tattoos by laser treatment was completely unlicensed – and literally anyone could set up doing it.
Now he has set up his own tattoo removal business in Warrington town centre – ensuring he has the latest high-tech equipment, which he has received full training to use.
“The equipment I use is only supplied if you go through a proper training process,” said Andrew, who operates from the Warrington Club premises on Bold Street next door to Richard Shaw opticians.
“I was shocked when I discovered the laser removal business is completely unlicensed and anyone can do it.
“The most popular form of removal at the moment is permanent and semi-permanent eyebrows – which means using laser equipment close to someone’s eyes. I wouldn’t like to think of someone doing this without proper training.”
Andrew provides a full consultation before embarking on any treatment and also does it over a period of time.
While some tattoo studios do removal as a side line Andrew specialises in it.
“I believe there is a gap in the market to provide this dedicated service,” he added.
