Fire on school playground

TWO fire engines were called to a well-established fire on a school playground last night.
The blaze was at Locking Stumps Primary School, Glover Road, Birchwood and crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish it.
An area of about five metres square was involved and was well alight when firefighters from Warrington and Birchwood arrived on the scene.
The cause has not been revealed.
A crew from Warrington also dealt with a fire involving the cooker in the kitchen at a property in Toll Bar Road, Orford.
Firefighters were also called to Westy Community Centre, Bridgewater Avenue, and use hand extinguishers to deal with a fire in the open.
