Thief on the run detained by border police

A male accused of a high value shoplifting offence from ASDA at Birchwood, Warrington, two years ago has been detained by French Border police in Dover.

Police colleagues in Kent are holding the male in custody for an allegation of goods worth more than £1000 from ASDA Birchwood in August 2014 .

He was circulated by Warrington police on the Police National Computer and picked up by French Border Police in Dover.

He currently resides in Margate Police Station where officers from Warrington will be collecting him.
