WARRINGTON’S historic Brewhouse Live music bar, formerly the Old Town House, is in need of urgent repairs to the roof, sash windows and other areas.
The Grade II listed historic building on Buttermarket Street, opposite St Mary’s Catholic Church in the town centre has started to feel its age, from being built in the mid 19th century.
Landlady Joanne Pownall said; “This pub has become the heart of the new music scene in Warrington, and there is a real community built around shared ethics and a passion for keeping live original music thriving.”
The pub will be celebrating its first birthday under Joanne’s ownership on the 27th August. The venue also gets involved locally by collecting for the Warrington Food Bank.
A crowdfunder page has been set up at: http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/the-brewhouse for any donations to help restore this listed building.
The Brewhouse is Warringtons only live music venue that specialises in new and original music but is now in urgent need of structural repairs
Joanne added; “If you can spare anything at all towards the work we would be eternally grateful, and you can be safe in the knowledge that every penny pledged will be used to keep this building alive and open.”
Warrington Civic Society has also offered its support, because of the building’s listed status in a conservation area.
