Lane closure as van blazes on motorway

FIRE crews from Stockton Heath and Birchwood were called out to a fire involving a large van on the M6 near Warrington this afternoon.
The vehicle was ablaze between Junctions 20 and 21 on the northbound carriageway and one lane of the motorway was closed while the operation went on.
A hosereel jet was used to extinguish the blaze.
There were no reports of injuries.
