DOG owners in Warrington are being warned to be on their guard after a second family pet has died from suspected poisoning.
The latest incident was at Croft, following on from another incident at Chapelford.
It was the second time in four years that Laura Blundell has seen a family pet suffer an excruciating death.
Vinny was a one year-old German Shepherd. Laura lost another dog, Oscar, about four-years-ago, also aged just one.
Her sister Eda Adams posted a warning on social media saying:”My sister lost the second of her dogs to an inconceivable act by another human being. Her dogs were both poisoned at around one
year of age but 4 years apart.
“Both dogs suffered an excruciating death, it started with general lethargy, followed by diarrhoea and severe vomiting that even medication couldn’t prevent, they couldn’t eat or drink as this only exacerbated their symptoms and caused them more pain.
“Oscar was put to sleep once the blood in his body had started to leak from his organs and blood vessels into his bodies cavities causing his whole body to swell to almost double it’s size. Vinny passed in his sleep after a two day battle with vets desperately trying to save his life. This was incredibly painful for them to go through and incredibly painful for all concerned to watch. Throughout their illness both dogs were alert and we believe were aware of and felt everything.
“My sister is devastated, as are her two young children. Our family as a whole is heartbroken both at having to watch these two beautiful innocent dogs die but having to watch my sister and her family suffer the loss of their beloved family pet for a second time.
“It’s clear to us and indeed the vet and the RSPCA have confirmed that this is too much of a coincidence. It seems someone has for whatever reason singled my sister out and deliberately poisoned her dogs.
“People need to know if there is somebody in their community capable of such a torturous act. She only walked her dogs on well known and well used dog walking routes. When not with my sister the dogs were outside in her garden where they should have been safe. Keep a close eye on your pets. You wouldn’t wish the pain and suffering experienced by these gorgeous dogs on your worst enemy.”
Laura added:”I’m never going to be able to prove who has done this. I’v had a few days to take everything in and I’m just so glad he’s a rest now and not suffering its one thing if dogs are old and have had a good life but to be cruelly snatched away at the young age of one is just heartbreaking.
“I will never forget the happy year that we spent together and the joy he brought to us all. He was a love dog with a lovely heart I will miss him so much.”

What kind of sick and twisted evil mind would do such a cruel thing? The person who did this should be locked up.
