GREY skies and rain failed to dampen spirits at the annual Orford Park Festival which was lit up with colour from a Rio de Janeiro Olympics theme.
There were many other activities for the whole family including fairground rides, a ride along train, birds of prey, dancers, a climbing wall plus food, craft, charity and gift stalls.
A mascot and character parade featuring Peppa Pig, Ben 10, Wolfie and LiveWire’s very own Jet also took place.
The event , now in its fourth year, was organised by a group of local partners including LiveWire, Culture Warrington and Warrington Wolves Foundation, supported by the Central Neighbourhood Board.
Describing the successful event; Cllr Tony Higgins of Fairfield and Howley, and the executive board member for culture, leisure and community said: “In the last week I’ve attended the Birchwood carnival and today the Orford festival; showcasing what is so fantastic about our town, and proving to many what a great community we have. To see so many people attending just these two events goes to show that investment and support pays off to enhance community cohesion. “
