POLICE and retail partners “foiled” a woman shoplifter who was going equipped to steal in Warrington today.

The woman was followed on CCTV until she was spoken to by a PCSO near Go Outdoors – but she then ran off across Wilson Patten Street.

But she was apprehended by two police officers and it is alleged she has been found in possession of a foil lined bag – an item adapted for the theft of items.

The woman was arrested accused of going equipped to steal and it is believed she is also wanted by officers from another force for further offences.

She has been charged with going equipped for theft and will appear in court at a later date.
