It is not known if it is the same group ordered to vacate the Chapelford site at Dakota Park yesterday evening by police and Warrington Borough Council.

The council is expected to be visiting the site to serve a section 77 notice ordering the travellers to vacate the site.

It is the fourth incident involving travellers groups reported in the Warrington area since the weekend.

A group of travellers were also orederd to vacate Silver lane at Risley at the weekend and another group received a section 77 notice to vacate land at Woolston Park by 2pm today.

  1. How can it be ‘not known’ if they are the same group, or even part of a group, who have already been served notice over the past week and vacated another local area site or been here before and had notice served and left a right mess behind as some do ?
Do the Council, Police, Liaison Officers etc not make a note of vehicle regs, caravan model/type etc when they go down to investigate a new illegal encampment prior to taking enforcement action?
Should be easy to track them all and their movements and stop offs within the borough if they do and even beyond. Hardly rocket science is it.

  2. The problem with a Section 77 Notice is that there is no penalty on the recipients moving to another part of the borough to “set up camp” again and again and again.
