TWO fire crews from Warrington were called out to tackle a wooden jetty fire on the Manchester Ship canal earlier today after being alerted by a ship’s captain.
The incident at 7.16 am involved a wooden jetty near Moore Lane. The fire crews had to gain access to the site by cutting a padlock on a gate after being alerted by a passing ship’s captain.
They then put out the fire using a hose reel jet.

How on earth did one of the old wooden jetties there catch fire especially at 7am in the morning. How odd….
