Golden Square launches a first in first aid

GOLDEN Square Shopping Centre is marking Child Safety Week by training staff and shoppers in specialist baby and child first aid.

Child Safety Week takes place from June 6-12 and Golden Square has partnered with Bumps and Bashes, an expert provider of baby and child first aid training.

Ian Cox, Golden Square manager, explains, “Our aim has always been to be a family friendly destination and we try to do this in as many different ways as possible.

“The launch of our dedicated first aid training sessions for staff and customers is a way of us extending this.

“We believe that the importance of specialist first aid training cannot be underestimated, and as a sign of our commitment have put together a programme that will incorporate our staff and also give our customers a chance to take part.”

The organisation was founded seven years ago by Kate Naylor and operates across the North West focusing in particular on training for parents, careers and grandparents to give them the skills and peace of mind to deal with an incident.

Kate, who will be delivering the sessions herself, explains: “I will begin by training Golden Square’s staff so that they have the skills and insight to deal with a baby or child first aid situation.

“Next I will be running a series of sessions that will be open to Golden Square’s customers.  This is a wonderful opportunity and those taking part will come away with confidence and peace of mind.”

Anyone who’d like to register their interest in attending one of the public courses and wants to find out more should visit gswarrington.com or call 01925 655053.

There are limited free places available, each of which is funded by Golden Square, so book early to avoid disappointment.
